Flight
Simulator (PCATD)
Our
flight simulator is a Jeppesen FS200. It is a PC-based
simulator, and has fully functioning flight controls and
cockpit display. The simulator greatly facilitates
learning since, at any point during the lesson, the
instructor can hit the Pause button and
discuss with the student the previous segment of the
flight and what will occur next. The PCATD will also
redraw the flight path so the student can see his or her
exact track, altitude and airspeed. Flight training on
the simulator is significantly cheaper than in an
aircraft, and you never have to cancel a flight due to
weather! PCATD is located at our Albuquerque International Airport
location inside Seven-Bar Aviation.
Other
benefits include: For the
pre-private pilot
·
Great for learning how to intercept a course to a VOR
or NDB and tracking in- or outbound ·
Provides a low-stress environment for introduction to
flight by reference to instruments and unusual attitudes For the
instrument student or other pilot in need of recurrency
training
·
More economical than training in an aircraft ·
Up to 10 hours can be logged toward an instrument
rating (with a qualified instructor) ·
Systems failures (vacuum, pitot-static, electrical,
mechanical) can be programmed to occur during the lesson,
providing a more realistic in-flight emergency than
covering over a flight instrument ·
All types of instrument approaches can be flown ·
Great for the pilot planning an IFR trip to any
location in North America all frequencies and locations
of navaids are programmed in the computer, so the pilot
can practice instrument approaches at an unfamiliar
airport |
